1760's Character Busts by Seitou 1760's Character Busts by Seitou
:icondonotplz::iconusemyartplz:

Fashion Timeline: 1760-1810

Year: ca 1760-1769
Style: Rococo or Georgian
Dresses: Robe à la française
Description: A gown style that had a fitted bodice opening to show a stomacher; also called a "sack back" because of the two large double pleats which hung freely at the back from the shoulders to hem. It was very popular during the 2nd and 3rd quarters of the 18th century. During the last quarter, until the Revolution, it was only for ceremonial court functions that it was worn in its original form (from "Galerie des Modes").

Busts of Collette and Cosette (Collette was in one of my older deviations and I felt like this would be a good chance to touch-up her design a bit :giggle:).

And if anyone's wondering why all my characters' names are starting with "C," there's no real reason; it's just a running gag I guess :XD:

You'll get to see more of their dresses in the next picture, though it'll only be in flat colors. I really don't have the time to go crazy coloring stuff, so the flats will have to do >_<;; Instead, enjoy the busts, which give you a general idea as to what the pretty patterns on their dresses would look like if I'd had the time to draw everything :nod:

Not sure if I like the hat or the hair better! (What, none of the feathers I adore?! XD Kidding) Great piece. Reminds me of those ... what are they called... Cameo necklaces? I think that's what they're called.

I love the hat, and the hairstyle of the lady on the right. It's so like "Dangerous Liasions"... did you know that wasn't set in the 1770s? :XD:
