A Few of My Favorite Things...

Description

I had to change the background color to brown. The grey was just too depressing :P

1. Floral Headbands. I think most people at RU know me as "that girl with the headbands." I almost always wear some sort of fluffy floral headband, and, if doesn't have flowers on it, then chances are that it has some sort of bow or feather on it. But I always have something in my hair. Always.

2.The 1920's. The fashion, the music, the crazy dances― I love it all. And I blame my 1920s obsession entirely on Lackadaisy Cats. But thank God that cloche hats have come back into fashion :heart:

3. Anthropologie. For those who haven't heard of Anthropologie, they're a brand that sells high-end quirky and vintage-inspired women's clothes. I adore their things... but I'm limited to window-shopping on their site. At least until I can justify spending $200 on a sweater.

4. Dolls. I'm a girl. How can I not love dolls? Especially creepy porcelain dolls :meow:

5. Floral Jewelry. My collection of floral jewelry is starting to get as out of control as my collection of floral headbands @___@

6. Dolly-kei Fashion. Vintage, quirky, cute, and a bit creepy :heart: It's also one of those styles you can pull off without having to spend a fortune on brand clothing.

7."Catherine Vlasto" by John Singer Sargent. Along with Tissot, Sargent is one of my favorite 19th century artists. As for this particular painting... I'm just a sucker for 1890's fashion. And all 19th century fashion, really.

8. Peruvian Connection. Another high-end women's fashion brand that I adore. Their stuff is very vintage-inspired, and I love their embroidered bags.

9. Kmye-chan. I love a lot of DA artists, but Kmye's work has left the greatest impression on me.

10. Late Eighteenth Century Fashion. Because people back then knew what style was.

11. Kazuya Minekura's Saiyuki. One of the few manga series that I still follow. Minekura is also an important artistic influence and the reason I haven't given up trying to draw men... since we all know how much I hate drawing dudes >3>

12. "Anathème" by Victoria Francés. She's one of the few popular contemporary artists who actually understands what the gothic genre is all about.

13. "The Climax" by Aubrey Beardsley. It's hard not to admire Beardsley when you consider how much he accomplished during his short lifetime. I love his blend of Western and Eastern styles, the macabre and grotesque, and the overall look of pen and ink work.

14. Sunflowers. I went with sunflowers for this Map since they're so often associated with 19th century Aestheticism, which interests me, but I just like yellow flowers in general. And sunflowers are about as yellow as you can get. And this Map totally needed more flowers anyway :meow:

15. Mod Cloth. Another more expensive brand that I wish I could afford ;__;

16. Oscar Wilde. I shouldn't have to explain this one :|

17. Mineko Ohkami's Dragon Knights. My favorite manga which has always managed to have some sort of influence on everything I write.

18. Enchanted Doll. Because Marina Bychkova is an amazing artist.

19. Mori Girl Fashion. One of the many fashion styles I like to wear :heart:

20. Classic Lolita Fashion. I'm obsessed with flamboyant fashion styles. Need I say anymore? But classic lolita was the first Japanese fashion style I fell in love with and I always end up coming back to it, no matter how many other fashions I try out.

... I love how this pretty much turned into a fashion meme XD;;;
