I'm pretty sure that it's been over a year since I last drew a piece of fanart, and I'm sorry that I kept so many people waiting On the bright side, at least I've improved enough to do a decent Disney tribute?

I've been wanting to rework my old Snow White design for some time now, and I really like the way this one turned out; I think it's closer to the Disney version in some ways. I wanted to adapt her Disney outfit to a 1630's Baroque gown, but that's kind of hard to do since Baroque dresses are very... large >_> And the dresses from the 1630s had higher waistlines, which aren't really flattering when coupled with the big skirt.

I tried to keep the general shape of the dress that Snow White wears in the Disney film... but I added several historical touches, and I also changed the colors. The primary colors that Disney used in the film are pretty ugly; they're too bright and they clash terribly with each other. Disney really needs to learn to lay off the bright colors because it's really sad when the princesses' ragged work clothes look better than their "fancy" dresses. For the colors, I wanted to work with creams, antique yellows, and shades of red in order to emphasize Snow White'd red lips and pale skin; it also makes her black hair really pop, and the movie's original theatrical poster [link] shows Snow White in similar colors. I also like how the lighter colors make this a possible wedding dress for Snow White... because we never get to see her wedding dress in the film ;_;

Oh! And this picture is kind of special to me because it's the first time I ever used colored lineart for the entire image... and I also did something different with the coloring since I overlayed hard-edged cel-shading over soft-shading

I plan on drawing the other Disney princesses, but I can't promise how soon I'll be able to get around to them. I'm going in chronological order, though, so Cinderella will be the next one I draw
