Fashion Timeline: 1760-1810

Year: ca 1785-1787
Style: Georgian
Dress: Caraco and "Marigny"-style hat
Description: Robe cut off at hip level, worn over matching or sometimes contrasting skirt with one or more flounces around the hem. Originally it was worn by servants and country women. About 1776 it made its appearance as fashionable dress. Variations include the caraco à la coqueluchon, caraco à la française, and caraco à la polonaise (from "Galerie des Modes").

I feel like I got lazy with this one since the dress isn't completely decked in a crazy floral pattern, but that's sort of the whole point of the 1780s. The '80s ushered in a wave of simplicity (but not like the simplicity of the Revolution), so floral patterns were typically small and kept to a minimum; instead, stripes were all the rage (though it seems to me they'd always been rather popular). I based this one largely off a plate from Galerie des Modes, so it might look familar *took some liberties with the hat* ^_^;;;

And, yes, Cammilla looks rather evil o_o I'm still not sure how that happened... But I promise the next character won't look so... threatening >____>;;

Enjoy! :aww: :heart:
