Fallene Gabrielle Falburne II
Look who's finally updating with art!
It's been almost a year. I think. And the first thing I post is a picture of Fallene. I'm so sorry, everyone. I feel like people must be sick of seeing these "redone" pictures of Fallene (I'm practically trolling you guys by now), but I was really unhappy with the direction that my work was heading in with my last few updates; I ended up really not liking those pictures of Fallene and Rowen (the costumes, the anatomy, etc.), so I'm redoing them that way I can hopefully take this project in a new and more interesting direction. Hopefully. I feel like I keep trying and failing |DDD;;
So here's my revamped profile illustration of Fallene. I changed her hairstyle a bit (because that old look was just so complicated to draw), used an earthier color palette, and added a ton of details to her costume (in the process of trying simplify the panel design on her skirt, I accidentally made it way more complicated... oops!). But there's a little over a year separating this picture from the one it's based on, and I can see lots of improvement, so I guess that lengthy break I took from DA was worth it.
Anyway, I'm currently inking the revamped version of Now Fallen, and I've already got Rowen's profile sketched out. For more frequent art updates (sketches, WIPs, etc.) I suggest following on Tumblr: calantheandthenightingale.tumb…

I must say I like this version alot better then your other ones. As much as u didn't like them I thought they were okay...not my favorite of your work. Wow I sound so snobby, Im sorry i swear I don't mean it. I just really like this ALOT more. I mean it.
the perfect harmony in the colors is wonderfull and the shoes are so cute!!

She's amazing, love her colors and shoes
I am totally in love with these details *3*
nice oriental design here :3
Oh my, I forgot how much in love with your work I was!
Every time you come back with new art, I'm always stunned with how improved your art is. (Not that it's ever looked bad--I've been a longtime fan--but it always improves in ways I couldn't imagine and makes my eyes pop). This looks absolutely lovely, I love the patterns and the drapery on the dress. So awesome!
Oh, I'm so happy to see art from you again! All the details are particularly lovely and graceful, and you can truly see the evolution. I adore this outfit.
I loooove the outfit <3
wow really lovely. I especially love her clothing and her eyes
This is gorgeous, the detailing on her outfit are amazing!
She looks pretty!
Where did you get that skirt pattern? It's so pretty!
Thanks ^^ Most of the patterns that I use are scans of actual fabric swatches (sometimes from stock photos or from vintage catalogs/books, which you can find on sites like openlibrary.org or archive.org).
