In the Dark

Rowen really isn't one of my favorite characters, so I always dread having to draw him; I wasn't looking forward to inking the sketch for this picture XDD Somehow, though, the inking process proved more enjoyable than usual, and, for the most part, this was a fun picture to work on― at least until I got to the coloring .____.

Coloring is always really annoying and difficult because I can never make up my mind what colors I want to use. By the time I made it to the coloring process, I was really starting to regret having dawn any of this since I was just starting to realize that "Oh crap, I need to have a background!" But, because I don't like backgrounds, I didn't have the slightest clue as to what I was going to do XDD;;; After a lot of fiddling around, though, a background took shape... and it somehow ended up being better than what I'd expected |DD I'm really surprised that I was able to come up with a background at all, so, even though I'm not so crazy about the lack of detail here (compared to Fallene's picture), I'm pleased with how this turned out― it really could've been so much worse!

This looks pretty good.

I saw parts of it on your Tumblr so I'm glad to see the finished product. Did you use the pen tool to colour everything in? I like how sharp it looks.

Colouring is hard but the inclusion of textures helps to focus on the overall figure and you've given attention to areas of detail that aren't distracting.

I know how it feels that about coloring, but this work came out very nice
