The spring semester is officially over! I just finished my last final earlier today, so now I'm finally able to relax. But the last few weeks were absolute HELL for me. Who else had completely insane finals?!

Last Monday I had my take-home final for my teacher prep course was due. It was a complete waste of time and energy, just like the mid-term was. I swear, you NEVER learn anything useful in teacher prep courses. The teacher I had this semester was a total wacko as well; he continually contradicted himself in class, gave really, really BAD advice, and practically encourage plagiarism. And whenver someone in the class asked him about something or said that they didn't agree with his methods, he always got super defensive and would give some vague, smart-ass answer. Really. Everytime some asked a question he'd always respond with "The research says..." or "I don't know. What do YOU think?" o_______O On top of that, half the questions on the final were questions from the mid-term that he just reworded.

So, that was one final out of the way, but I had three on Thursday. My essay for my German independent study was due (and it counted as a final), plus I had my art history and English Lits finals. I spent at least 15 hours studying for the art history final T_____T It was mental torture!!!! Unlike all my other finals, it was cumulative, so I had to know everything from the beginning of the semester... For 130 images, we had to memorize the titles, artists, dates, materials, locations, patrons, etc. All that just so we could write six paragraphs, each comparing 2 different works. Oh, and we only had 10 minutes to write each comparison -__-; On top of that, there were two essays and in each essay, we had to include 5 artists and 5 works of art -_______-;;; Normally, finals don't take more than an hour... but this one? I started at 2:00 and didn't finish until a little after 4:30 >___>

So, um... now you know why I haven't had the time for artwork or anything lately. I managed to get some sketchwork done, but I just haven't had the energy to start inking or coloring anything. After I finish my summer course on children's literature (ends June 19th), I'm going to start work on my timeline project (for my independent study in the fall)... so, I've got until then to finish up any personal stuff and the few pieces of gift art that I've been neglecting. So, hopefully I can get my act together and finish things *crosses fingers*

You're lucky, I have started my exam period T____T
I will be big exam of art history too. (I have to learn all from ancient to mid 20th centuryXD) I hope my teacher will not ask artist's biography, as last timeXD I know only David's life.

And I will have more bigger exam (i'm studying geography and art at university) I don't wait them...

btw, have you seen my last art? I think, maybe you like it:)

Ouch. Glad your finals are over! (I personally have been procrastinating the heck out of taking Art History, because every one I know that has ever taken the class anywhere has had the exact thing to say that you have...and memorization of random facts...NOT my forte.) Enjoy your break!

Good luck with your exam. Art history is really tough, especially if you have to know artists' biographies @___@

And I'll be sure to check out your gallery :D

Ah, good luck! I think we all need a break. The end of the year is always the worst part.

Art history is a lot of work, but if you're really interested in the subject material, it's worth taking... of course, a lot also depends on the teacher. My teacher was a really hard grader, so that made tests a lot worse. But it was still very interesting, especially once we got into high Renaissance and Baroque art :D

Hehe^^ I can realx at least until I start my summer course. But I'm looking forward to that since it's children's literature and I know we'll be working with a lot of the classics.
